Are you one of those people that fall for every new fad diet that comes out? The Atkins Diet, The Zone Diet, The South Beach Diet, The Cabbage Soup Diet, The Low Fat Diet, The Low Carb Diet, The Grapefruit Diet and the list goes on and on. Fad diets seem to be hitting the market constantly. Do they work? Ofcourse they do! Do they sound appealing? For the most part, Yes! But are they setting you up for failure? YES!!!!
Any diet will work because you are limiting your body of a certain food group or nutrient and therefore the numbers on the scale will go down. But think about it... you will not be able to follow this diet for the rest of your life nor is it good for you. Once you have seemingly reached your goal and start eating 'normally' (and I use that term very loosely) you will notice that the weight will slowly creep back on and more will be added to your waistline as well. So how can you combat this, you ask? Simple! Focus on making lifestyle changes to your diet and exercise routine. Healthy choices that you can stick with and that are beneficial to you. Believe it or not, yo-yo dieting can be worse for your overall health than gradually weight loss and maintenance.
Do yourself a favor, stop dieting and start 'lifestyling'. Your body will thank you!
